If you read there post they are not saying they started a price war, simply they are able to offer more competitive prices as they have lowered there costs. This was something hurleys were working on doing even before sweetfix came about as rob used to ring me telling me how things were going with new sweets and there own production.

Thanks for that. We were in the process of settting our stall out with lower prices due to the three cost savings we were in the process of making (our own pot, our own packing facility and lower product costs dur to our orders increasing with our customer base expanding). The arrival of Sweetfix and their lower prices was a coincidence.
On the pot. It is a better pot as it works in vending towers that the Portuguese one doesnt.

This is true,

Rob told me about the new pot idea well before Sweetfic began supplying.

I also think that both companies have been instrumental in the positive changes that we have seen in recent months. They have made significant investment in order to stabilise tower vending into the future and should be congratulated for taking risks. We are all seeing the benefit from lowering prices and these companies providing transparrent pricing for all.
