For simple maths lets say you buy 40 boxes a month at an average price of £30 for 3 months you have spent £1200 x 3 = £3600 total spend. This entitles you to spend £1800 in month 4 at the reduced price say £25 i.e another 72 boxes. Total number of boxes = 192 at a total spend of 5400 = an average box price (5400/192)=£28.125 average price.
In your example the equivalent will be the same for the first 3 months i.e £3600 then 40 boxes at £25 total spend £4600 . Average box price 4600 divided by 160 = £28.75.

6 bought at full price , 2 at bonus price.
a 50% credit is 6 at full price , 3 at bonus price. In effect its actually a little bit better than that as you are buying 3 at a cheaper price anyway so your money goes further.

I dont see this either, but I have asked about it because thats the phrase you used.

I can fully understand the concept that whatever you spend over a 3 month period, you get 50% of that amount to spend on the discounted prices. Therefore, if you spend 3k, you get £1500 to spend at the lower, discounted prices in July. Could the 1.5 boxes phrase be misleading to some. I dont know.

Its the statement below relating to 1.5 boxes that I am confused about.

(You get 50% credit, so lets say you buy a box in april may and june that entitles you to credit to buy 1.5 boxes at the discounted price. This is done as a simple cash credit.)

the 1.5 boxes came about because hurleys spreadsheet was based on 1 bought in 4 consecutive months, 3 at full price, 1 at cheap price which is completely wrong. If you are allowed to buy 50% at the cheap price what is 50% of 3? answer 1.5. It was put up to show Paul/Rob/Hurleys the basic mathematical error that 50% of 3 is not 1.

On a later example I then doubled 3 boxes to 6 to deal in whole numbers to make it even easier to understand. If you buy 6 you get 3 at the cheaper price, not the 2 you would in Hurleys incorrect spreadsheet. And it also doesn't allow for the fact that you can buy more for your money because in the 4th month prices are lower.

The vending industry is a lovely mathematical game. Its the beauty of it. Do you sacrifice margin by putting in branded stuff instead of jelly mix? How many more minstrels do you need to sell to make it worthwhile in that scenario. Is it better to have a Vending Revolution machine with 5% commission earing £20 a month, or a full commission machine taking £50 a month. At what point do you pull out a non performing machine. What commission can you give on a toy or a bulk in the some site without mileage charges. How long does it take to get your money back on a machine. etc etc etc.

I doubt it was deliberate but the spreadsheet clearly stated incorrect prices and in every case higher than they should be.
