I have a Clenporte with a broken base and need to take the rod out. There lies the problem. It wont shift. I have had the rod in a vice and tried to twist the tub, but nothing seems to work. If I put a spanner on the nut and try and turn it, the welded nut on the bottom will turn in it's plastic housing.
Thanks all,
Paul
Clenporte help please.

Re: Clenporte help please.
Hi Noel,
I am aware that it is two piece and have undone others relitively easily, but this one will not budge. If I force it, it will just spin out at the base, as this is only plastic. If you could get a spanner on the nut at the bottom, it would be easy. Do they normally seperate easily.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Clenporte help please.
Normally they're not too bad. Try spraying with a bit of wd40 and leaving it to sit for 15 mins.

Re: Clenporte help please.
Hi Noel,
I have managed to do it. I put a locknut on the threaded bar, close to the one that joins the two bars together. Then I put the lower nut in my vice and twisted the locked nuts, which seperated the bars nicely.
Cheers,
Paul

Re: Clenporte help please.
They separate easily with a spanner for the locking nut and mole grips for the rod.
