True Paul it does seem strange - I've just not followed it through - are they cool with vendors building up sites one by one. So for example after first month we get few sites, month 2 another 5, then build from there? Also what do their stickers sell for?

Hi Gavin,

As far as I am aware, they welcome anyone and it does not matter how many machines you have, so long as you are putting the money into their bank. I have never been questioned about my sites at all, but I thought I would have to provide them with some info. As far as H4H are concerned, we are just categorised as fundraisers, similar to event organisers and that is it.

I thought Glen was well involved, taking account of his postings earlier this year about them.

Paul

Paul,

Maybe people are a bit like me, in that they do it a bit differant. And please don't take this in a bad way, as i think the money raised for H4H is absolutley fabulous. But i feel as though the money raised by this charity is running into tens or hundreds of millions now and maybe they are other causes just as deserving. so i have picked my own local charity, which helps kids who have terminal illnesses.

I don't display on any machines that money goes to the charity, and i don't get the machines into venues on the back of the name. I still give my venue the usual 20%, and then i have decided to give the charity a small percentage of every vend, irrespective of weather it is 20p, 50p, £1 or £2.

Other may do a similar sort of thing?? I hope people are.

Chris

Hi Cris,

I think what you are doing is great, especially, as you are giving from your own profits. This is not the case with the H4H sites, as they are effectively raising the money buy forgoing their comission. I think what you are doing is something that many of us would like to do, but at the end of the day, we are in business to make a living and I for one find that it is not easy at the moment.

If you told your sites what you were doing, they may forgo their commissions, or take 10%, so your charities can benefit more. H4H is not the charity that needs the most in terms of support in this country, but it is the one that us vendors have an agreement with. When we began with this in March 2011, many seemed to be getting involved, but not many have responded to the original post made by Ross. This is why I raised the point.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I sure wasn't knocking what everyone is doing, cos i think it's great and reading the work people were doing on the forum is one of the reasons i decided to do something myself. And i don't give a huge amount. As you know i only started in October, but expanding at roughly 7 machines a month, so by end of year hopefully my little bit i am giving from every vend will make a differance.

Yeh it is a business, i suppose i am just very fortunate to be in a position to do this.

And i would think that with H4H being national it means that everyone no matter who can raise money for them, which is a good thing. I just chose something a bit smaller, and what i consider just as worthy.

Hi Chris,

Being linked to H4H is worthwhile, for a number of reasons. Firstly your machinery is raising money for a great charity and a very big % of ppl in the Uk know who they are and therefore do not mind contributing. Yes, they can put £1 in a H4H collection tin and why not, but some see a small donation and a pot of sweets as good for all.

I have sites that have changed from commission based to H4H and sales have increased.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Maybe i can do a bit for H4H too then, i would be able to give the 20% to H4H, then continue my own charity thing also with the machines.

Do you find it easier to get a machine inon the basis off H4H??

Hi Chris,

I use Hurleys site finders and I have received some cracking sites. You do have to accept that some sites may not do as well as others though.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Yes it is disappointing to only see a handful of people display their bmy charity web page!!!! I was looking forward to seeing a total amount raised to help for heroes collectively from forum members

Hi Paul,

Do you recieve anything from H4H, like info where the money is being sent, or what impact the money is having that you have raised, and do you get any certificates saying how much you have raised in the year ect?

Kind Regards

Chris
