New Products Available

Post by Paul@HurleysFoods »

Just a quick note to say that Mini Toblerones will be available from next Monday. £35 per 96, 3 pieces per pot. Set to be a great seller, at a great price.
We will also be launching Cashews, Pistachios, Salted Nuts and Chilli Rice Crackers in the clear pots.
We are however, still stocking Sandral and Salysol lines for those who wish to buy them. Our savouries in clear pots will be £8 cheaper than the tinned products. The Chilli Rice Crackers will be only £26 per 96 - and they are a great product.

Thanks, Paul.

Hi there. The Pistachios and Cashews are 40g each and are £42 each box.
The Salted Peanuts are 63g and are £32.
The Chilli Rice Crackers are only 20g, but you physically cant fit any more in to the pot, its jammed to the top! The price is only £26 per box of 96

P.S Thanks Glenn, it was painful to watch.....................

Paul,

I have previously bought tubz vending Cashew and Pistachios, the problem was two fold:
Sell by date was too short, any saving I made was negated by some stock not selling at quieter sites!
Secondly, the flavor was generally not as good as Salysol/Sandral.
So the the question is what are the sell by dates? and
How do they taste?

Well, I agree with everything that you say. But, we believe that the shelf life will be longer and the taste better for longer as our pot is much more air tight. The lid fits inside the pot, the pot cant flex at the top and let air in. One of our customers has been buying our pot for the last year and filling with nuts that he has been buying from the same supplier as we now use and he reports no issues with the product over 5-6 months of them being in the pot before sold. I would always say be cautious and only buy enough for 1 or 2 months at a time, store them out of sunlight and manage the product properly knowing that they need extra care compared to the sweets. We know that they wont be as good as the tinned products, but have been asked to do them because of the price differential. If you go through enough of them on a site, you will be fine. The label on the top of the pot helps keep the lid tight too. We will only really pack to order and aim to have the savoury products to the customer within only a few days of us opening the sealed bag/ box of nuts at this end and packing them. That way we will give the longest shelf life to the customer as possible.
Many thanks, Paul.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to show you that we have the Toblerones rolling off the production line as we speak. The chocolate is probably the best there is. We think it will overtake the rolos and minstrels as a best seller!

All at the great price of £35 per 96!

Hopefully speak to you soon, Paul and Robert

HI Paul,

Just a quick question? How can your container be more air tight if it has got a very small hole on the lid of the container.

I know that you cover the hole with your lid labeling but still the nuts have meet the air their self life decreases by some margin.

Which only gives this type of product in the clear container 6-9 months self life.

Gas flushing is the only way you would get to preserve the life of the nut products..

Unless you have got some different type of pot for your savoury products not sure how they are any more air tight then ours or anyother company using plastic containers???

If i was going to sell nuts in plastic containers. i would have the nuts in a packet then put into the containers. Cashews seem to absorb the plastic taste into the nuts. pistachioes are different and taste better
