New to the business

Post by Rikochet »

Hi everyone! Just taken the plunge and bought a tower from Hurleysfoods on Ebay. So now I will get it sited and watch the millions roll in yes? Ha ha, OK it was a bit of an impulse buy but a vending run would actually tie in quite well with my day job, as I'm a sales rep with a company car and fuel card. I work a 4 weekly cycle visiting small retailers throughout Perthshire and Fife.

None of my retailers would want a vending machine but I'm sure I could get it sited somewhere half decent, and if it does well I can buy a couple more every pay day. Is that how most people get into this business?

Anyway I thought I'd better say hi as I will no doubt need to ask for advice as I go along.

Thanks,

Rikki

Ok I've just bought another one! Ebay and payday is a dangerous combination!! What kind of businesses should I approach to site them and what's the best way to pitch it to them?

HI Rikki,

What small businesses do you visit at the moment?

Hi Matt, I'm a tobacco rep so it's all small newsagents and corner shops which sell confectionary products and wouldn't have a tower in there. Funnily enough I spotted one in the foyer of my local Booker earlier when I was in picking up stock. Should've asked who it belonged to.

If you have contacts with independent newsagents you should go for toy machines.
