Towers in soft play / toy barns?

Post by newmark »

Hi guys,

I would imagine a soft play centre would be an excellent site for a tower.... but my question is, are towers safe in this environment or are they likely to be pushed over or climbed on by excited kids?

Any advice would be appreciate as I have someone in mind, but before I approach them I want to know what to say if the question of they being tipped over comes up.

I suppose they could be secured to the wall - what is the best way to do this?

Thanks again,
Mark

Ive had towers knocked over before but generally by drunk adults. However I would aim for a really heavy stand. The tubz vending ones are about the heaviest around and have a wider base than any others.
Can you get a toy machine in? Ive only got one play barn, no sweets because they sell them but a 4 headed Tomy. I get around £350 pm from it.

Hi Andy, thanks for the advice!

I'd love to get a toy vendor there too as they dont have anything like that - I'm planning to speak to them shortly so will let you know how I get on.

Sounds like a great site you have - do you go in with 20% commission, or more to secure the site?

Thanks again, Mark.

I think most pay 25-30% pay on toys in good sites Mark.

Hi Mark

Play Barns are the cherry of the cherry sites if you can get into them. The majority will either sell their own sweets or have sweet vendors already placed together with toys and rides - all depends on the site. In the last year of siting, from memory I may have got 2 of these sites despite calling all the ones in each town that I have canvassed. Good luck!

Hi Andy

No I didn't as I got them as part of a campaign. Activity centres are one of my searches and I always call them, generally to no avail. If I had got one if I was not working at part of a campaign then I would have offered it out at a much higher rate.
