Where do I get product labels?

Post by newmark »

Hi all,

So I have some machines, and some stock - but the stock I have does not match the labels on my machines. I'm just in the process of removing the old labels (hair dryer, wd40, etc) so that I end up with machines with no label.

My next step will be trying to get labels to match my stock preferably, or if not some generic labels.

Can anyone let me know where I would normally go? Are the stickers bought from the sweet suppliers (tubz vending, Hurley, etc) or are they given away when you buy the stock? If bought, any idea how much they are as I need quite a few.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

I don't use labels mark. Hate the bloody things. They are ok when new but they soon start to get scruffy and once on will restrict you to what stock you can have in the tower.

Thanks Style,

To be honest having no labels was something I thought about..... I've had quite a few other arcade machines over the years (all for home use only) and always remove any labels as I think they can look scruffy, as you say.

However, with the towers I see the product name is on the top of the tub, so with no label at all do you find your customers as ok not knowing what they are getting? Or is visually seeing the items ok instead?

I'll fill up a machine tonight with no labels and have a look, as I think you're right - it would look quite smart!

Thanks again,

Mark

It's a 50/50 call. Works for me, it may reduce sales very slightly compared to a machine with brand new labels but it probably increases sales compared to one with tatty labels. Also most of our customers are repeat customers, they know exactly what's in their and what they want.
The win of not spending hours scraping labels off is well worth it imo

I'm in the no label camp for reasons stated above.

Thanks Andy/Barbara,

You're right, getting labels off is a long winded process. I've been spending the last few evenings with a using a hairdryer to get old labels off, then carefully using WD40 (making sure it doent get in the gaps) to remove any residue, then finally multi surface cleaning and then polish to get them looking great!

Kind regards,

Mark

You can buy "sticky stuff remover" which is a great product. The aerosol version is best.

We now use easy peel internal labels for that pub chain that begins with a M. They are fantastic, do as they say on the tin and never get grubby or peel. John Turner from Janet and John came up with the idea. Should have thought of it years ago! I think all future labels printed by Hurleys will be of this type. No doubt they will still supply both as will be hassle converting existing machines
