Please enlighten me, does anyone on the forum pay 50% commission to the site on beavers where they are vending minstrels and skittles at 20p? I had a new install recently where he wanted 50% com on the towers. I also had another new install today and he wanted at least 30%. I said no chance. I would be working for you and for nothing if I did. They have both left it for now but was wondering if there is any truth in the matter, surely not. I realise there is a bigger mark up on the bulk vending but even after paying bulk for the sweets, vat and fuel, surely it would not be worth it overall. The first install I think the landlord was trying it on but todays landlord also confirmed the 50% com being paid to him each visit.

Regards
Lee.
Hi Lee. They're just trying it on mate. We have many Beavers and the very most we give is 25%. Make your minstrels a 50p vend for sure, Your cant make £ from a 20p vend! Regards Al.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
If they start to get pushy then will just take business elsewhere. The one pub was a first time callback of 70 quid in sales and I think Nigel was right he may have got confused with a fruit machine operator paying 50%. Even though he was pretty adamant that he got 50% on the beavers but its good to know that no operator pays more than 30% commission.

Matt

Lol see what ya mean, just go along the prom at Gt Yarmouth mate, you dont see many teddies coming out of those things, so it really is gambling, just like a fruit machine.
Those type of cranes require a license wheras the "play till you win" variety do not!
Thats the distinction I was trying to make, should of been a bit clearer really Matt, wont happen again, promise!

I WOULD BE VARY CAREFUL in paying commissions. 20% is the going rate. If they want more than 20% they need to earn it with high turnover. I pay 25% to a very small percentage of my customers which are top sites. If someone goes into an area spouting say 30% all the landlords talk to each other then you have screwed it for yourself and every other operator n the area.

Kind of a little off topic but Nigel do those cranes that you gamble on have a tighter grip once in a while to allow a win? Some of the ones I have seen seem such a con to be so limp wristed not even to grip anything? :o

BS to that. I pay 20% to all except top site which gets 25% because he had his own machines which he sold to me so knows the ropes. go elsewhere.
