Looking for Advice

Post by PabloV8 »

Hi all,

Looking for some advice - thinking about purchasing 50 or 100 machines from tubz vending!

Had a good look at their operation and it looks good.

Any reason why I should/or should not pursue this venture?

If it was a success I would obviously purchase more

Really appreciate your input on this

Kind regards

Pablo :-)

Well I wouldnt go in with 100 straight away, why not trail 25 or 50 to begin with. tubz vending is a good place to start if you are a total novice, have you had a look around the local area to see how saturated it is? Where are you based?

Hi Popp665,

It is my intention to go on a fact finding mission next week.

I am in Scotland - west coast, have recently retired so looking at perhaps an eventual 100/200 tower operation to operate part time.

I have income from a company pension and intend to work a couple of days a week doing supply education.

Kind regards,

Pablo

I'm sure you will get plenty of responses on this one!

I personally prefer Hurleys, as I started with tubz vending then switched after a month or so. Both companies offer more or less the same thing, but I would suggest speaking to Hurleys before making your final decision. As your thinking of a large investment, it might be worth halving it between the two companies, then seeing which one you prefer after a few months.

If you want my personal opinion, the machines Hurleys supply are far superior, and less prone to jamming! Their pots are also less likely to jam aswell, as the tubz vending ones are slightly smaller and dont vend quite as effectively.

Whatever you decide to do you have made the right choice in getting opinions from existing operators first. Good luck!

Mark
(Ps. What area are you in?)

Pablo,
I can only repeat the good advice you've had from above. Stick to Clenport towers(not Chinese copies) and do a trial of upto 20-25 machines and remain independent.

Hi guys,

I am getting some very good advice here, it is most appreciated.

I have several questions to ask:

1. Does Hurleys or tubz vending use clenport machines?
2. If you go with 25/50/100 machines do you get the same amount of keys?
3. The keys for machines, are these available to all therefore compromising security?
4. Does anyone make a loss in this business?
5. Does anyone make a profit?
6. Has anyone, or does anyone know who has covered East/South/North Ayrshire?
7. Does anyone cover south side of Glasgow?
8. The whole of Ayshire is in the doldrums or is it the doghouse at the moment so business is lacking confidence hence my question 6 and 7.
9. It would make sense for me to stick with one group as I am a novice and it would prevent duplicate site allocation if I went with 2 different groups.
10. On average what is the sell by date of products? When sent a consignment is it the latest stock or old stock sitting around?

Sorry for all of the questions - but since it is a significant investment I need to be sure. If I broke even I would be okay with that since it would have only been my time that would have been lost and therefore I could say well I gave it a shot and it did not work. If I lost, well then my better half would be saying 'silly boy' or words to that effect.

Kind regards

Pablo

1. Does Hurleys or tubz vending vending use clenport machines?
Hurleys do for sure, dont think tubz vending do?

2. If you go with 25/50/100 machines do you get the same amount of keys?
You get a set of keys for each machine

3. The keys for machines, are these available to all therefore compromising security?
Unless you change the locks they will be standard keys however I am not aware of any other operators having issues

4. Does anyone make a loss in this business?
Yes lots of people

5. Does anyone make a profit?
Yes lots of people

6. Has anyone, or does anyone know who has covered East/South/North Ayrshire?
No idea, do some research!!! Visit sites and speak to suppliers

7. Does anyone cover south side of Glasgow?
As above

8. The whole of Ayshire is in the doldrums or is it the doghouse at the moment so business is lacking confidence hence my question 6 and 7.
So is the rest of the UK

9. It would make sense for me to stick with one group as I am a novice and it would prevent duplicate site allocation if I went with 2 different groups.
Agreed, I use Hurleys and they are very good

10. On average what is the sell by date of products? When sent a consignment is it the latest stock or old stock sitting around?
Normally a year or more although some products like fruit pastilles are lss, again pick the phone up and speak to a supplier

Hi Snackmore,

Thanks for your input it is most appreciated.

Did not wish or mean to sound harsh to Ayrshire - but facts are facts in the current climate and to be honest not sure if things will improve.

Anyway have been on the lookout for a tower machine so I can purchase/sample some of the goodies.

Do you get two keys per machine?

If you have a big round that would be a huge amount of keys to carry around.

Thanks for the info on expire dates - if you put a big order in say 50 machines that means you get 50 boxes of products therefore did not want to end up with out of date stock if items are slow in selling etc.

Snack ore

What is your area like for business?

Kind regards,

Pablo

All the keys are the same unless you change the locks. So 2 keys 1 x cashbox and 1 x lid will fit all

My area is a mix of villages, market towns and inner city so a good mix but plenty of competition. Added to this pubs closing left right and centre
