Dismantling a Tomy Gacha....

Post by newmark »

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction, as I'm stuck with what I thought would be a 5 minute job!

I have a Tomy where the plastic "flap" over the toy chute was missing. I bought another from Rockvend, so I thought it would be a simply case of dismantling the hopper section allowing me to click the new flap into place....

But... after unscrewing pretty much all the screws I could find, I could not get the wheel/hopper etc to come out so I could not get to the bit where I could click the flap into place!

I'm usually ok with taking apart machines and working things out, but with this I'm stuck! I'm sure I must be missing something simple though, can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I even found a manual online, but it only explained how to fill a machine and didn't cover what I'm after. I'm hoping to get it sited fairly soon, but cant put it out until the flap is in place :(

All help gratefully received,

Many thanks, Mark

Thanks guys,

Are they ok to operate without the bottom flap? I assumed a kid could reach in and break off the inner part, or get their arm stuck etc?

I'm still planning to have a proper look when I get a chance - it's frustrating as it looks like a simple job, but after spending over an hour I ended up giving up!

Kind regards,

Mark

Quite agree Andy, maybe I will leave it like it is and add some razor wire inside the hopper ;)
