Beaver machines and re filling

Post by KASE »

Hi

I raised a question this week about health and safety/food hygiene/licenses for filling your own tubs. I have decided to steer away from this idea and stick to pre filled tubs.

However it did then pose the question re beaver machines.

Do you need food hygiene certificates when filling them with stock?
Do you need to have storage premises checked,
have council check your procedures for filling ( eg wearing gloves, monitoring old stock, discarding damaged stock etc..),
clearly state the ingredients on the side of the machine,
have signs up saying chocolate peanuts are not suitable for nut allergy sufferers ( I know obvious, but H&S is a lot about stating the obvious!)
do you have to be checked to make sure you dont cross contaminate skittles with peanuts ( ie wear the same gloves) and therefore need to put signs on all products
do you need clear sign to say when stock was last refilled
or when machine was last stripped and cleaned

or am I going over the top with this???

You're right , while it does make sense in some cases, it is going over the top.
