New pound

Post by mikeholness »

Where can I get hold of a new pound coin this week so I can start trying my coin mechs to make sure they work before siting.

Also have to say a massive big thanks to Ade for the YouTube video.
That 18 min video looks like saving me over £1000 easily.
Can same method be applied to the metal(not beaver) Tomy coin mechs.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mike,

The same method can't be applied to the metal tomy mechs as they are very different. If you try applying the same principles to the metal mechs you can only really get it to take the new coin with any reliability. They can however be converted to take both coins using a different method. It's difficult to explain in text only. The best thing to do is take one apart and become familiar with the workings of it and the internal parts etc, then give me a bell and I'll be happy to talk you through it.
