You could try on the pinball forums - (UK Pinball or Pinballinfo) or the video game forums like Jamma+. I've had loads (around 50 pinball machines) over the years, mostly from those sources and generally for a reasonable price.

For operating, I would go for an older Stern (2001 onwards) as they are not too pricesy, or a Data East (such as Lethal Weapon 3) which are good games, but a lot less pricey than Stern/Bally etc.

Make sure it has a UK coin door with a multi mech, as changing the coin door and credit board is a pain otherwise!

Hi Matt, same here - I've never operated a pinball commercially before, but often thought about it.

White Water is my favourite machine - although if you buy one that needs new ramps, beware they are £500 for a new set!

Do you have any pins at the moment? I sold my last 2 a couple of months ago (Revenge from Mars and Mario Bros) to fund a few towers. Definitely hoping to get some pins again at some point in the future. My best one was a Wizard of Oz Limited Edition, but sadly that was sold a while ago now.

All the best, Mark.

Hi Matt
I had a thing for 80s pinballs a couple of years back.
I did have a 1980 Williams Firepower, 1981 Gottlieb Black hole & 1982 Haunted House (the First TRUE three level Pinball) & 1996 Bally Scared Stiff.
Sold the Scared stiff to a collector in Austarlia and made around £500. Both Gottliebs I Doubled my money on by simply re rubber & Bulb and touch up the playfield. The firepower I doubled my money without doing a thing to it.
The trouble with your quest for a cheap Pinball machine is, you are up against collectors and with some of them, money is no Object.
My Advice is as previous Poster mentioned is the forums on "Pinballinfo".
It is a lively UK based forum and you are not dealing with crooks (as is the case with SOME eBay sellers)
Be prepared to spends good money and that way you will get a handsome return when you come to sell it on!

Cheers
Nigel
