Had any reverse vends recently?

Post by Quinch »

I've had a couple of sites recently that have Clenport towers that have reverse vended, previously I've only had this happen once ever and now I've had 3 in 2 weeks so just wondered if there was some new technique being used to do it.

When looking at the back of the mech it's only the right hand pawl that's popped out and when I've tried to get a mech to reverse vend myself with brute force it's almost impossible just using my hands so I'm not sure how they are doing it, also the place is mostly used by kids so I think it's highly unlikely some strong guy has done it. One machine did it then I fixed it and ran a load of £1 coins through to make sure it was working ok then the next day someone broke it again.

I would like to know if anyone else has experienced any issues recently.

If there is some new trick you know about please don't post how it's done in the forum just PM me, thanks

Its just something that happens sometimes. Clenport towers doing it were very rare before the new £1 coin but I think messing around with them loosens bits up.

Interesting!
I had several per year, results in free vends !

As Style has suggested, have had about a dozen since the new pound coin. Most of them are kids sites. Solution, in sites that have this problem I change mech to a completely new mech ie ditch the clenports mechs in those sites. This seems to work so far.

Also had a few since the new £1 and on my clenports, 3 so far. Definite a technique as same site accounted for two machines

Discovered another free vendor yesterday. All of mine have been in the same 3 mile radius, but now affecting all towers, not just the clenports. Worrying if word spreads further afield and my other sites are affected

I think you have just been unlucky Lynda. I cant see how you can manipulate it to happen but Im sure every kid without money walks up to a tower and turns the handle.
