Making money from money

Post by cliffxtc »

I was at a site last week and the deputy manager asked me if I made money from rare coins from the vending machines. He makes £50 a week min from sorting through the coins taken in the bar and restaurant.
Never considered it before, anyone have any thoughts?

We Check every 50p that comes through our machines. Collected 750 Olympic 50ps, loads of beatrix potter and sell them all on ebay. Got 4 Kew gardens, sold one for 80quid. Worth looking at.

I keep the collectors 50p's. I will get round to selling them at some point. Got loads. I sold a "test piece" new pound coin for £110 on Ebay.
I struggle to find the time to go through the 20p looking for undated ones but I did pick up an Isle of man one last week that on doing research is worth about £3. Not a fortune but if you think the product they bought cost me about 6p thats about a 5000%. mark up.

Yeah,
It never fails to amaze me.
Fools and their money and all that!
These coins can be bought uncirculated for £10 each from the mint (when they have them)!

The funny thing is, if people would only just take a looksey! You can purchase Peter Rabiit series silver bullion for £60 each.

Silly people, if they want to collect coins they should only purchase bullion coins....
