Tower lid problem

Post by nivending »

I've a few towers with really loose lids.

Can't seem to work out how to tighten them.

When locked they move up or down an inch or so which could be inviting to a cheeky thief

Any ideas why so loose

Cheers

I think , if I remember correctly you need to tighten the black bit down on the end of the rod. That or just bend the locking tab a little bit. Sorry its been a while!! I'm sure someone will be able to advise better

Additionally, try adding spacers to the upperside of the top lock. This will reduce the clearance between the lock lever and and the black ancoring piece. Also ensure you are not mixing Clenport and Chinese parts in this area.

They are probably Clenporte lids on a non Clenporte segment., or visa versa.

It could be the locking nut at the top needs tightening or the lock itself.

Or it could be someone has tried to force the lid and has bent the locking lever. Just bend the lever back.
