Dixie narco bev max 5591 "choose another selection" error

I have a Dixie narco bev max 5591 and have four trays that when I enter the keys to vend the product, A1, D1, D2 or D4, the screen always displays "please choose not her selection." I thought the solenoid was bad but when I go to vending test mode, the solenoid a activate and the gates open for those trays. Not sure if problem is board or cable. Don't know what to try next.
