New to all this

Post by Craig »

Hi all, I have just found this forum and I am glad I did. I am just about to try and start a vending round, (I am new so don't know all the terminology). I'm starting on a very limited budget, I have got 1 machine, a Pepsi can vending machine. I am trying to find a friend who will have this in there office of depo etc. is this an easy business to get into, or will I be fighting a losing battle?

I am not expecting to get rich, I am a gardener with a busy gardening round but winter is a slow time so I want something I can have running which will bring in a couple of quid all year

Any advise would be great, Thanks

Hi Craig.

Welcome. From reading others posts, I think you will need quite a few large machines to make good money. Mat from the Coin Operated Group may be able to advise you on these. I suppose toy machines could be something else you could consider and sweet towers, but this all depends on how busy you are in summer.

Hi Craig,

Its a good business but a slow business tbh hardest part as you have found out is actually siting the machines!! Drinks machines are easy (stick with cans as they have a long sell by date) snack machines are a lot harder as you need to be able to rotate stock and sell by dates are a lot shorter. Took me 6 years to start making a living off the business, but I am happy with it now

Get your machine in your freinds office (offer him some cash usually helps!!) and see how it goes. If you have any technical questions or need help regarding machines then please let us know.

Also remember that cold drinks sell less in the winter than the summer!

Thanks for your replys,

Mat, I had come across your web site while looking round for ideas on how the business works. Do you sell the machines, for rend them out, with all the services and re stocking that goes with it?

I am going to try and site a can vending machine first then see how it goes. I am in widnes, so if anybody knows any sites, or any ideas who to find sites give me a shout....

Thanks very much
