Milk vending?

Post by Snackmore »

I have been asked if I am able to get a machine that vends milk???? Basically the site want all staff to use the one supply, they have had all sorts of problems with fridges getting wrecked by spilt milk/milk theft etc.

I am struggling to come up with a solution other than sachets or a milk dispenser which has a bulk bag inside.

I will be pushing really hard for a hot drinks machine but they are not keen

Any ideas?

Thanks

Steve

Hi,

Have you thought about buying a cow.

Seriously though, I dont think milk is suitable to be vended as it has a really short shelf life, so you would need to sell loads each day, even if you could find a suitable machine.

thanks,

Paul

Hi Matt, not containers, they want a bulk supply so that anyone can help themselves (call centre with 300 employees on full rotating shifts)

I think its a no no but thought I would ask to see if someone else has had this problem, as I say I would really like to supply a hots drinks machine but they believe people would not buy and there would be a nigh on riot even if I was charging 20p a cup

Hi Steve,

Is it not the norm for a call centre to have a hot drinks vending machine?? Strange, as the call centres ive worked in, in years gone by were super money takers for the people that owned them.

You could get a tabletop machine and just set all dispense amounts to the same for all drinks, put powdered milk in them all and hey presto every time they press they get some milk you could set it to 'x' millilitres of milk for every button press

Tabletop would e a couple of hundred and thats it, you then make the money off selling milk per portion or per bulk bag or just supply machine at cost to keep them happy.

Thing is weighing up price of spilt milk vs machine.

Thanks guys.

Chris, I agree but its getting it by the tight bastar2ds who currently bring their own tea/coffee/milk etc. Making them pay anything would be a challenge. Whats the minimum price that I could vend at with a fusion style machine? Not interested in an in cup one as would prefer the quality and no complaints. I have read somewhere it costs approx 8p a cup in total? That being the case I could vend at 15/20p and still make a profit.

What would be the cheapest that I could vend at and are the above costs/prices realistic?

Again I appreciate all your advice and experiences

Cheers

Steve

20p minimum for a drink. Most sites we have with free machine are 30p. I do know of companies vending at 12p + 1/4 service charge of £300 but are on major sites selling 2000+ cups per week.
