Contactless Vending

Post by DT Vending »

I know that the bigger electronic machines have now got contactless card readers and you can use either cash and Coins, Just wondering if anyone has seen or operating any towers or Toy machines with this way yet ?

Liam sent me a video of a Clenport tower converted fro contactless, Clenport are making them but the ;contactless; is a bit fiddly looks like you need an app and the tower does need power although Im certain it could be converted to be run off a large battery

details are on clenports site

the reader and the brains where the sim goes in. This is obviously for big machines as bulky equipment and antenna

Spoke to Miguel at Clenport about them back in March I think it was, he said then they were still developing them. The contactless unit uses 4/5G so no need for WiFi connection in the site, it logs all sales and they can then be viewed from the app on your phone so you know when the machine needs refilling. Payment is made by the customer via their phone using Google/Apple Pay. They were aiming at £250 per M81 including the contactless unit but you would have to contact them for up to date prices

No probs. Contactless is definitely the future and a very convenient way of upping the sale price by small increments without having to change coin carriers/mechs. Although I won't personally be investing in new machines at present because the economic situation is still uncertain because of Covid I would certainly look at them when things improve. I also asked Miguel about the possibility of retrofitting the units to existing machines and he said they were looking into that also

Machines are too easy to steal not sure I would be putting £250 of equipment in unless fixed by bracket to the wall
