Tapas

Post by PabloV8Haggis »

Has anyone tried the new tapas products yet?

If so, what are the sales/returns like?

Hi Pablo

I have not had any feedback, although the Tapas do look nice and I believe will do well in the right location, ie the pub trade.

Andy, check out tubz vending website, they have them listed there.

Kind regards,

Barbara

Thanks Barbara.
So as I see it, you would need new towers, ie you cant mix these products into a standard tower. Limited sites on that basis.

Hi Andy

It certainly looks that way. I wonder if those pots will vend through the existing Pringles Towers?

Looking at the history of the Tower market in the UK, Salysol were the first market movers and it was due to their European type snacks that were not great sellers in the UK that an alternative offering was introduced into the market, ie confectionery, which is the staple offering in the majority of the sites that the Towers occupy. Saying that, I am sure there will be sites who will want to offer the Tapas and maybe buy their own machines or buy the Tapas pots to sell on the bar. Maybe for those who occupy pub sites should offer the Tapas as an extra ‘behind the bar’ sales and get the pub to buy from you with a margin to make it worth your while?

Regards,

Barbara

Are they the same weight? I would have thought a lot more weight for the larger pots? I don’t have access to the weight information.

Tapas style products may sell in busy adult only city centre pubs catering for the business lunch/after work trade. Cost prices for Salysol cashews, pistachios have gone beyond what's acceptable for the £1 vend. So the vend price for this type of product will have to be £2. So for a £2 vend I would expect to see 40-50% more product. With this in mind Salysol have introduced a 'deep fill' range of products for this £2 market using same size cans which can also be mixed with other products.

I did have a number of city centre pubs where these products were selling well but when lost I haven't bothered to replace them. At one time a pallett of Salysol nut products would last me three months, now it's 18 months!

Regards,

Pete
