Vending Machine Ends it all!

Post by valiant016 »

I have to report the sad demise of one of my Pringles vending machines!

I have a number of machines on one site and some are placed outside.
It is a very big site with numerous facilities and has a internal train track.

One such machine was very busy for a while but after the summer holidays sales on this machine slumped dramatically.
The machine suffered several breakdowns and became frequently non-responsive, clearly it needed more "change" in it's life!
I can only assume the machine became very depressed with tragic consequences.

I was called to the site by the Manager and we found the machine on the train track smashed to pieces.

I took away the remains and it was laid to rest at a private ceremony at the local dump.
The epitaph reads "It was an "Original" machine that got "Sour Creamed" off and now it is "Barbecue!".

So the next time all us vending operators feel down, remember machines have feelings too!

Valiant

PS. Either this is true or some b#####d threw it on the track..so it's murder!

Wow! Machines that top themselves! :yikes:

Do us poor operators really need ANOTHER thing to worry about. I hope this just a one off!

I have over 500 of these unfortunate souls, maybe I should get some group counseling from the Samaritans!

I did have a Cigarette Lighter machine "spontaneously combust" a couple of years ago!
strange really, as it didnt seem depressed at all ????

Valiant,

What a load of emotional claptrap, keep control of your business & bring in all outside unchained machines at the end of the season!

I refer to my installed machines as 'my flock' and I 'The shepherd' must attend to the flock. Any good shepherd will of course, leave his flock in search of the lost sheep until he finds it. (as in your case dead!)

Pete,

The Beer talking section of the Forum, is for amusement only, which I assumed was obvious from the tone of my post.

No problem Pete, lets face it we are all trying to make an income from vending, whether it's our sole income or additional, and it is a serious business!

But we still need a laugh!

So here's a challenge to the whole forum, lets have everyone's most amusing anecdote, both vending and non-vending related, that way we might all might make it through the cold vending winter!

Send them in guys (and gals!)
