Ohoh! You are right Pablo!
I do have the bulk machines, if I am honest I was under the impression that these weren’t subject to as many regulations as I’m not actually packing anything at home or splitting bags etc. I actually bought the machines from a former member on here and from what he said and what I could find on google I didn’t think I needed check out.

I only have a few on locations but I have been placing them and then pouring in the stock from fresh bags. The skittles bulk comes in handy refill size so I am never needing to carry anything that has been opened so I’m not sure what I could actually get certified in but I will start a new topic on it now and find out.

I will keep you posted!

you just need the ingrediants to hand at home

When Barbara was operating and producing sweets the pots they were using were cardboard. We only tried them for a short while and found lots of jams but that may have been due to the poor quality of the towers we started with.

Hi Andy

Yes you are right, our very first batch of 0.3M cans were problematical and it was a nightmare and where the majority of the problems were experienced was in the Laiv vendor that some people operated - do you remember those that Bristol Merchants sold? - they were hexagonal in the body and looked yuk! The cans were correctly specced and as our cans were identical to Pringles in manufacture, what we did not take into account was the sealing process after the product has been filled in the can. The pressure of the foil lid being placed on the can and sealed compressed the can and even though it was only parts of a mm, it did create a lot of jams for some. Thankfully from our second shipment onwards that problem ceased. The cans were lovely looking though. :D

Good times!!

A lot of our first machines were LAIV. Maybe the future is in cardboard, though I have heard Pringles being slated for not being recyclable!

Yes, those Laiv machines were not up to much!

Yes, correct again, the Pringles cans are not re-cyclable - our cans were identical to the Pringles cans which are known as metal composites and there is no way of separating the foil from the cardboard and tin!

My first 80 machines were all Laiv, they worked well with the Salysol and Sandral which were available on the market at the time. Problems arose as other suppliers came onto the market, so I got rid of them all! I Still use Laiv for my 90mm toy capsule machines and find them very reliable. I shall pay them a visit next time I'm in Spain.

I wondered if we could use smaller Pringles type pots, they seem to be just as problematic in relation to waste/recycling!

Plastic is just the flavour of the month for government at the moment, it diverts attention from more pressing items etc, I mean look at the more serious pollution that goes on, widespread fires, French strikers burning tyres, London buses and taxis, just about says it all.

This post is not so silly! One of our kind just lost contract with national due to environmental concerns. We need answers, otherwise we will be left with sites closing left right and centre. The jobsworth are picking on plastic at moment because it is an easy task. They have moved away from diesel as that is concluded.

Cheers

Now,before we get carried away, I use tubs and plenty of them and will continue so for as long as possible! Trouble is we have a strong green movement in this country now and, they will not stop until we only drink water and suck ice cubes

Trouble is, after that, they will start complaining about fluoride again.

I mean, floating plastic in the ocean! It's not as if everyone last year decided to start going down to the beach and put plastic in the sea is it? Countries have been dumping large scale for years in the ocean, sorry I mean governments, but hit the consumer as it is an easy target! All the crap they have been dumping for years is now starting to come to surface.

O'h, and all the miles I do, I have only ever found several tubs on the ground...... and that was in my garage
