ToysRus

Post by Style »

Hi guys,

I take it im not the only one with towers in toysrus. What is everyone doing? Removing them or waiting to see if someone buys the chain?

Gutted, great sites!

Cheers

Sad news Andy!

I have acquired loads of Toys R Us sites for many customers all over the UK in the last few years. I have not heard what people are doing yet. I guess you keep them on site for as long as you can but make sure you make contact with the site or mention when you next service what is happening with the store. When stores closes it just announces it with no prior warning.

Hi Andy, I will probably remove mine in ToysRUs before long but keep an eye on whats happening with a view to getting them back in if a buyer is found. Mine do ok but not great, so I calculated that the risk of losing the machines is greater than the benefit of keeping them in. Cheers, Mark

I took one of mine out today, taking the other out tomorrow. Could have left them for a week or so but decided to play it safe.

Good plan, I'll probably do the same over the weekend. Better safe than sorry, as they say :)

Hi Guys

I don't have any in ToysRus, Barbara need to talk to you ;-)

As long as you have an asset sticker on the tower saying its your property you should be ok to leave it there, as if the store closes the official receiver will recognise that it is not their asset and should contact you, or hand it over to you if you go to collect.

No doubt there is going to be a fire sale, which will generate a lot more foot fall, and thus possibly sales.

Not legal advise, just the way I know it works from personal experience.

Regards

Richard

Hi Richard

There's a reason for that, you don't do ST1. Just as well anyhow, it would have been short lived for you. ;)

Kind regards,

Barbara

Sadly this has not been my experience in the past. You go to a business and find they are closed, doors locked and nobody to contact. And for the relatively low cost of a tower, it is not worth all the hassle of trying to deal with recievers etc :(

Hi Andy

I am certain you are correct with small businesses and pubs, but with a big company like this the receiver has a legal obligation to ensure any items on the premises that are identified as belonging to another person or business are returned and not sold off as part of the bankruptcy, that's why all my towers have 'Property of' asset tags on them.

Of course its up to you.

Totally agree with Style. If a business looks like it is going to fail, best get the machine out. The towers are not worth much besides, a crafty employee might just take it. Doubt very much if administrators would go to the trouble to find owners of towers giving how many stores they have. Easier to get rid of tower and cost effective for them to do so.
So if business looks suspect, take your towers out or lose money. I have lost several each year, these days tend to just shrug my shoulders as it is par for the course.
