Yes, I know they are in business to make money but come on, change the flipping figures to something that is more achievable. We all have several sites doing almost 200 a month, but if we all took the stance that those golden site sales is the figure to use to hype up what business we do i.e. 200 x however many towers we have, we would all be smoking Cuban cigars

I think it is time the suppliers changed all that guff on the websites regards sales. It is letting to many people into a false sense of belief that they are hitting the jackpot with this type of business.

Re: Pots Sold
We don't all have sites that do over 200 a month
Feel free to pass on any tips on how to get them though
I agree with what you are saying, was there not a criminal case in the vending industry in the past?
I am not sure if it was the UK or USA but I seem to remember reading about people getting jail time over false claims.
I don't think our suppliers are on that level but there does seem to be a steady conveyor belt of people who bought in to a franchise on the basis that the figures provided were realistic when any experienced vendor could have told them it was pie in the sky. I wonder what percentage actually hit the sales figures quoted in the sales pitch?

I do not have many hitting that amount! It is something you stumble on, one cannot say site x is going to earn y! True, there are many operators who are really big hitters i.e. Really big operations however, for every one big hitter maybe perhaps hundreds of struggling operators because they did not gauge the area properly or research enough.
You perhaps did not read the post cleraly enough, the suggestion is that too many people read the sales achievable numbers online provided by the suppliers and think, I'll have some of that. They need to be more realistic. If you have not seen the figures have a look and you might have a different stance.
I came into this business having seen those numbers however, I researched first and set my own realistic numbers 25 ppm average throughout the year. It rings true. It is a numbers game.
Towers.....
10/20/30 makes you weep
50 gives you pocket money
100 makes you happy
200 gives you a holiday
300 lets you see the light at the end of the tunnel
300+ makes you think, maybe should be doing this full time now
I love this business and encourage others to take it up but, research, research, research!

Re: Pots Sold
Pablo ROTFL so true, but your numbers will only be accurate if you buy second hand kit at fire sale prices, buying new kit will multiply your numbers by at least 5.

Hi Richard,
Totally agree!
My tower stock is 50/50, funnily enough, the new towers have performed far superior to the old towers in reliability. Sometimes piece of mind rules the day. I now try and put the newer towers out towards the farthest places. You pays your money you takes your chance.

Dont forget all the people that these adverts and franchise shows are bringing into the business are the ones we buy cheap towers and sites from at knock down prices making our businesses more competitive.

Re: Pots Sold
I've never paid much attention to sales output of individual machines and don't even record these figures. My decisions have always been made on my total fleet/flock output, measured in £ collected. I find this is the only meaningful figure when trying to gauge what I need to earn to cover my expenses.

Re: Pots Sold
Hi Pablo, it makes my business more competitive (maybe not the best word maybe profitable) If I had to buy brand new towers that cost £150 each compared to probably £60 average ive paid it would have cost me around another £36000.
